The method involves placing a first holder (6)for processing an exposed side of a lens (5) into a opening (2) in an adapter part (10) with markings following the processing, aligning the lens using the adapter part markings and joining the lens to a second holder (9) inserted into a holding device (17) and then removing the first holder with the adapter part from the lens together with joining material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an arrangement for aligning ophthalmic spectacle lenses (b) and an adapter part for manual alignment of ophthalmic spectacle lenses.
