The vehicle hitch theft lock has a first lock plate (7) with a lock (9) to cover the end of the through bolt connection (5,6). A second lock plate (10) covers the other end of the connection and can fit into the first lock plate to engage with the lock bolt (13). The lower side of the hitch housing (2) adjacent to the connector opening to receive the hitch cone. There is a securing bolt (15) attached to one lock plate and engaging in the other.
