Microscopy system for viewing of indocyanin green (ICG) within tissues comprises: microscope optics (3); a first beam path and optical system for imaging light corresponding to the emission wavelength of ICG; a second beam path and optical system for object viewing with visible light; a display system for display of image data from the two systems; and an illumination light system for provision of both visible illumination light and light of suitable excitation wavelength. An Independent claim is made for a microscopy system for viewing of fluorescent ink injected into tissue to improve its viewability.
