A torque sensor (1) has coaxial shafts (5, 6) connected by a torsion bar (7) with a multi pole magnet (8) fixed to one shaft and moulded resin securing a non magnetic spacer (14) and multi pole magnetic rings (9) with internal claws on the second and two combined opposed direction magnetic sensors (11) detecting the field in the axial air gap between flux collecting rings.
