The drying plant has a transport device with 2 overlying transport bands (6) between which the veneers are transport between an entry point and an exit point via 2 or more drying zones (2,3,4)in which a drying medium is directed onto the veneers, with individual control of the temperature and/or humidity of the drying medium for each drying zone. The drying zones are stacked one above the other in successive horizontal planes, with separation between the drying zones via the deflection rollers for the transport bands.
