A disc shaped component (1) made of a thermoplastic, especially a thermoplastic adhesive, especially an intermediate layer for sealing or fixing plugs or fixing elements to a component, comprises contact surfaces (2, 3) at opposite ends of the component and an opening (4). The surfaces are rough, with a mean roughness depth of 40-100 mu m, especially 55-70 mu m. A disc shaped component (1) made of a thermoplastic, especially a thermoplastic adhesive, especially an intermediate layer for sealing or fixing plugs or fixing elements to a component, comprises contact surfaces (2, 3) at opposite ends of the component and an opening (4). The surfaces are rough, with a mean roughness depth of 40-100 mu m, especially 55-70 mu m. The component is produced by injecting the plastic into a cooled mould and then removing it after a cooling period. The mould surface roughness corresponds to that of the component surface. The mould is opened slightly before the component has fully cooled.
