The motor vehicle combined master cylinder and brake booster cylinder seal (30) has an annular seal ring with an annular projection (33) which extends axially from an end face of the seal at a radial middle position of the seal. There is an annular groove formed in the rear face of a base section of the seal to receive the projection on the seal. It has an annular outer lip (37) extending axially from the outer circumference of the base section to engage the inner sliding piston (28).
