A magnetic resonance device has a superconductive main field magnet with a stainless steel vacuum chamber (10) for creating a static main magnetic field as homogenous as possible in a focussing capacity (15). A hollow cylinder-shaped rate-of-change coil system (100) fits in a cavity on a hollow-cylinder-shaped main field magnet so as to create rate-of-change fields.
