The method involves stamping inner and outer aluminum shells (12,14) with several slits, stamping several aluminum turbine blades with lugs (18), inserting the lugs in the slits of the shells (20), bending the lugs to attach the blades to the shells and soldering the blades to the shells (22,24) to form a wheel of sufficient strength for a transmission using gearbox oil as the working fluid.
