The device has an upper guide surface above the transport path and a lower guiding surface below the path. Two guiding side walls (145) have attached mounting elements (171, 172) with which the whole guide device is handled and mounted in the overlying handling device. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for guiding plan material with an inventive device.
