Cold formed spring of high fatigue and corrosion fatigue strength obtained from a steel wire containing (%):C (0.45-0.52), Si (1.80-2.0), Ni (0.30-0.80), Cr (0.15-0.35) and V (0.15-30), remainder Fe, cured and tempered by high frequency heating. Independent claims are included for: (a) preparation of a helical spring of high fatigue and high corrosion fatigue strength of composition as above; (b) steel material for cold forming of a cured and tempered spring of composition as above.
