The steel carrier structure, for use in building construction, has at least one carrier (1) and at least one support (2). The carrier is mounted to the support, with a limited movement in relation to the support. A unit to dampen the relative movement is between the carrier and support or between the carrier and a component rigidly secured to the support. The movement damper has two components (7,8) in friction contact with each other, fitted to the carrier and the support at their mounting, pressed together by a spring (5). The damping strength is adjustable.
