A nucleic acid (I) comprising a sequence of at least 18 bases of a segment of chemically pretreated genomic DNA (II) according to one of the sequences (S1) selected from 120 sequences, and its complementary sequences, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an oligomer (III), especially an oligonucleotide or peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-oligomer, comprising a sequence of at least 9 nucleotides which hybridizes to or is identical to (II), and complementary sequences; (2) a set of oligomers (IV) comprising at least two (III); (3) use of a set of oligomer probes comprising at least 10 of (IV) for detecting the cytosine methylation state and/or single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in (II); (4) manufacturing (M1) an arrangement of different oligomers (array) fixed to a carrier material for analyzing diseases associated with the methylation state of the CpG dinucleotide of (S1), where at least one oligomer is coupled to solid phase; (5) an arrangement (V) of different oligomers (array) obtainable by M1; (6) a DNA- and/or PNA- array for analyzing diseases associated with methylation state of genes comprising (I); and (7) a kit (VI) comprising a bisulfite (=disulfite, hydrogen sulfite) reagent as well as (III).
