The use of a sealing composition (10) as a moisture protection agent for panels, which can be joined by a positive fit, in which the sealing composition is applied to the side of at least one panel (1), and this panel is then bonded to another panel (2). Independent claims are also included for: (1) panels (1, 2) with connecting elements forming a positive fit on locking with another panel, and a moisture protection agent (MPA) in the form of a sealing composition applied to the panel sides; (2) a floor covering consisting of a joined panels.
