Driver protection system for utility vehicles, esp. industrial trucks consists of connected driver retention bracket frames on either side of driver's seat, and swivel device to move frames into open position
The system incorporates driver retention bracket frames (1), located next to the driver's seat (2) in direction of travel. The frames are adjusted by a swivel device (3) between a position prevent the driver from falling out of the vehicle at the side, and a position permitting getting in and out. The pivot device is fastened to the engine bonnet (4) in such a way, that the frames are moved together with the bonnet when this is raised. Two opposite frames are coupled mechanically via a telescopic length-adjustable cross bar to be moved together. The system also has a locking device to lock the frames in position, and prevent travel only when frames are in secure position.
