Process for recording multichannel data onto compact discs uses sector of the disc to store parameter information

The compact disc, CD, has in contrast to normal discs a region [16b] in which parameter information is stored that relates to multi channel or intensity-stereo signal recordings. The stereo signals are recorded on the remaining section [16a] of the disc. Separate stages [10,12] handle the stereo signals and the multichannel parameters.
