The connecting or mounting device (12,14) for connecting or mounting a plate-form element such as a facade panel (1,3) to a support (7,9) has a first and a second element interconnectable by a coupling device. The coupling device is constructed in such a way that it allows at least limited rectilinear relative movement between the two elements in a first direction, and prevents a rectilinear relative movement in a second direction which runs perpendicularly to the first direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a support device for plate-form elements such as facade panels; (b) a plate-form element such as a facade panel; (c) a mounting structure for plate-form elements; and (d) a facade comprising several plate-form elements.
