The device to be carried could be a folding pocket knife with a handle made of two shells (9a), a blade (1) with a straight (2) and a serrated cutting edge (4) and a fluorescing patch stuck (8) to the handle. A piece of rope assembled of a core of thin braided steel wires and a transparent cover can be guided through an opening (12) provided at the outer end of the handle. The outer end of the rope is secured by the cover being shrunk using heat and formed into a permanent loop. The opposite end is joined to a spring hook using the same method.
