The grinding roller has a hub (1) and ring cylinder (3) for fine and rough polishing. A circumferential hollow throat (5) is formed centrally in the ring cylinder adjoined on either side by edges (4) of predetermined width. The ring cylinder can comprises two outer disc type elements and a centre element of suitable diameter to produce the hollow throat.
