The escalator-negotiatable baggage trolley or shopping trolley has a frame (4) connecting two rear fixed wheels (2) to at least one steerable front wheel (3) and on both sides of its underside facing the running surface has rows of contact ribs (15) made of a limited elastic material. The length of the ribs on both sides of the underside of the frame is limited to a portion of the overall length of the trolley and may be limited to a third of the frame length.
