The device for the applying of a protective film on a carpet has two upper disc (30) rotatably connected to the respective upper ends of a side frame (20) to support a rotatable cylinder (70) wound with the protective film. A lower roller (40) is rotatably connected to the lower ends of the side frame and constructed so that the protective film is drawn from the cylinder and laid on the upper side of the carpet. A telescopic rod (50) is rigidly connected to the center sections of the side frame, the outer section (51) of the rod having an outwards angled foot (54) for the connecting of a handle (60).
