The fixing bar has a first end which engages round the front edge of the gutter and which has a projection (4) which is supported under tension adjoining the wall of the gutter underneath the front edge thereof. The first end has a concave loop merging into the second end of the fixing bar which is preferably dimensioned long enough to engage over the rear edge of the gutter.
