The adapter (10) has an upper block (12) with coupling parts for a wiper arm end (30) with connection bolt (34) and bridge-lie locking parts (32). A lower adapter block (14) has coupling parts for conventional wiper blades with carrier bracket constructions (20) for even engagement of the wiper lip on the complete windscreen area to be cleaned. All parts and fastenings dependent solely on the length of the wiper blade, and are independent of the vehicle type. The adapter has hollow chambers, pref. open at the bottom, and pref. consists of plastic. It may have a surface coating, esp. a metallic paint finish.
