The sheet feeder for the feed of the uppermost sheet of paper of a pile (1) to a further processing unit has a suction head (11) supported by a suction head holder (9) which is movable on a guide (2,3) extending in the sheet feed direction. The guide is adjustable by a fine adjustment device in the form of a spindle in and against the direction of feed (8) of the sheet, and is lockable in position by a clamping device. The adjusting spindle is rotationally power driven or manually driven.
