The device for the fastening of a mudguard (16) to the frame (10) of a bicycle (12) has a strut with one end connecting to the frame and the other to the mudguard through a connecting component (30) which is constructed as a locking component. For the connection of the first fastening end of the strut to the frame the first end has a through-hole. The first and second fastening ends of the strut are identically constructed. The strut is constructed from wire and the fastening ends may be eyes.
