A permanently magnetized compensation magnet (54) is provided on the fixed bearing part (12), opposite the permanent magnet (54) on the rotary bearing part (14), the two magnets having opposing polarities. The rotary bearing part is supported by the fixed bearing part in a contact-free manner. The fixed bearing part comprises a magnet coil (42) with a yoke (44) and generating a magnetic field. The permanent magnet is magnetized in the same orientation as the yoke. An independent claim is also included for a shaft bearing (10) with the magnetic bearing, the fixed bearing part being on the stator side and the rotary bearing part being on the shaft side.
