The machine (10) is used to manufacture housings for hearing aids. The workpiece (12) forming the hearing aid housing is placed near the edge of a turntable (14) turning on a vertical axis (16). The workpiece is carried round in a circular path (28) and repeatedly passes a nozzle (18) which sprays lacquer on its top surface, and an optical furnace (20) with high-intensity light beams which harden the lacquer. With each revolution of the turntable a further layer of lacquer is built up.
