The bin for the disposal of especially items of female hygiene such as tampons has a hinged lid (3) which opens rearwards. The bin has a top side (4) which slopes forwards. The lid in the region of its hinge axis changes into a filling chute leading into the interior of the bin. On the rear side of the bin an impingement plate (8) pointing upwards from the top side is provided and in particular is formed in one piece with the top wall of the bin. A clamp is provided for the holding of a bag removably installed in the bin and extends around the inner side of the upper edge of the bin.
