The tap has a ball valve, the rotatable valve ball of which is enclosed by a sealing shell (5) which is formed around the ball (8) as a one-piece thermoplastic component by injection moulding. The shell has a passage (6), and the valve ball is rotatable around an axis (13) orientated perpendicularly to the axis of the passage. A handle (11) engages in a fitting profile in the valve ball. An anti-stick coating is located between the outer face of the valve ball and the inner face of the shell.
