The wind deflector (3) in a open roof (1) construction of a vehicle has an inner chamber (5) which is in communication with the environment via air inlet (6) and air outlet (7) openings. The air inlet opening has a cover section (9) which is movable between a retracted position in the non-operating position of the wind deflector and inside the overall circumference of the wind deflector, and an extended position in the operating position of the wind deflector in which it forms a vane extending outwards from the wind deflector to trap air and guide it into the air inlet opening. An independent claim is included for an open roof construction equipped with the proposed wind deflector.
