A method for diverting ground water under constructions, e.g. under tunnels, has vertical shafts bored each side of the construction to form drainage ducts connecting with horizontal drainage ducts under the foundation. Self supporting filter modules (6) are positioned at the bottom of each vertical shaft to control the water flow. The modules comprise a metal grid container filled with gravel and constructed from crossed metal rods and fitted with top and bottom retaining plates.
