The suction cup (1) has a dish-like suction bell (2) and an operating journal (3) formed on the rear of the suction bell, whereby the journal has an axial division (4) and possibly a transverse expansion (6) for accommodating cables of a light chain. A holding ring associated with the operating journal is latched to the journal in an under-gripping arrangement. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) an illuminated item with an inventive suction cup (b) an illuminated decorative item with an inventive suction cup.
