The connection between a pipe of plastic and a connector of an appliance, fitting (1) or manifold has at least one encircling groove (9) in the connector (4) and within which is fitted an elastic O-ring (6). The part of the O-ring which protrudes over the profile of the connector, at least in the free state, is in sealing engagement with the inner wall of the pipe end. The pipe end is flared before fitting on the pipe connector. An independent claim is included for a pipe connector on an appliance, fitting or manifold, and which is designed to create the aforesaid connection.
