A door closing system which enables domestic animals to pass has a thread fastened between the upper corners of the door frame and with sufficient length to hold a decorative ballast weight against the door. The top outer corner of the door is fitted with a pin (1) and has the thread (3) looped around the outside. A felt washer (2) prevents the thread being frayed by the top edge of the door. The door is held ajar and is easily opened by an animal, either by pushing against the door or by puling the door open with a paw. The ballast weight pulls the door gently back into the ajar position. The decorative ballast weight can be in the shape of a dog, cat etc.
