The device for the securing of roll-type loads on the load surface of a vehicle has a discrete grid (17) installed between a wedge baseplate (3) and wedging component (4) on the facing sides and enables a stepped adjustment and fixing of the wedge baseplate and wedging component in relation to one another. The wedging component is formed as a hollow component, open at least in areas and accessible from the outside, inside of which is installed in a space saving manner an operating unit with locking and releasing devices.
