The flow regulator (1) is fitted to the outlet of a tap or flushing device for a sanitary fitting. It has a shallow conical sieve (2) at the inlet to catch solid particles. It is followed by a flow mixture regulator (3) and a flow straightener (4) inside a housing (5). The water flows past an annular throttle body which surrounds a central core (7). The water flows past a shallow conical disk (9) with grooves (11) in its top surface.
