SDCU containing detector assembly is for concealed fire spots in cargo hold, especially of cargo aircraft, but also in ships and lorries fully loaded with containers. At least one sensor is fitted between container top and cargo hold ceiling. The sensor picks up electromagnetic radiation, ranging from 750 to 2000 nm and transmits signals to a smoke detector system for identification of the source of detected radiation, i.e. a fire.
