The connector for the connecting of furniture parts has two clamping pieces (10,12) each with a foot (16) which fits into a hole in the piece of furniture, and a tensioning piece (14) connecting the clamping pieces. The tensioning piece is rotatable by a lever around a connecting line (22) of the clamping pieces and is engagement with clamping pieces by respective oppositely handed threads. The foot of a clamping piece branches from it at approximately right angles to the connecting line, and on the inner side facing the clamping piece extends at an angle of less than 90 degrees to the connecting line.
