Disclosed are a device and a method for analyzing and monitoring sounds of the human or animal body, in which the sounds are detected and recorded by means of a recording apparatus (1). In order to allow the causes of such sounds to be detected in a more precise manner than in prior art, the movements and oscillations of sound-generating tissue parts are detected and recorded by means of a video recorder.
