A hedge trimmer conversion for a chainsaw comprises a comb like structure (4) fitted to the side of the chain support (1) with the body of the comb parallel to the chain and with the prongs (41) of the comb extending past the cutting chain (2). The prongs are shape to gather the branches and feed them onto the chain where they are cut cleanly. The comb is readily fitted and removed via three fitting screws enabling the saw to be rapidly changed between applications. The comb is stamped from aluminium sheet and the prongs can be reinforced by pressed ridges.
