The packing box (10) for especially breakable or shock-sensitive goods has an inflatable cushion element encompassing the goods and which is volume variable. At least one insertion opening (15) is provided for the introducing of the goods in the box and is constructed in such a way that during the transfer of the packing box into its operating state it becomes smaller by means of the volume change of the cushion element. Several cushion elements, and preferably in several directions, may be provided, and fluidically interconnected with the incorporating of a valve (16).
