The compensating chock for the horizontal alignment of parked vehicles has an access ramp (20) connected to a baseplate on the chock point side and also connected by the narrow side to the high side of a wedge which interacts with the access ramp. The access ramp is formed from a first wedge-form section (21) and a second trough-form section (26) which are interconnected by a joint. The baseplate on the high chock side has a rear wall (12) accommodating a connection, and one of the connections is longitudinally movable to compensate for displacements encountered during height adjustments.
