The brake disk has an array of circular holes (32) through the rim (31) with the friction surfaces (3). The rim is connected to the hub (1) by curved spokes (2). The edges of the spokes (21) are chamfered so that they act as fan blades to draw ventilation air through the disk as it rotates. The hub has through bores for fastening bolts and has a star-shaped central aperture.
