The drive gear for a cutting and folding machine is installed between a working table and underbase of the machine. The working table is mounted on four pairs of spreading levers (14) which are supported on the underbase via fine adjustment devices. A connecting rod (13) acts upon the joint mounting of each spreading lever pair and is driven by a corresponding crankshaft. Each of the two opposite lying fine adjustment devices has a slide rod interacting with slide blocks upon which are supported the lower ends of the spreading lever pairs.
