The stent, for insertion into a blood vessel and the like, has a tubular mesh wall around a longitudinal axis with elastic wall segments around the axis in succession. The wall segments are linked together by connecting segments (12). The wall segments have spring sections (15), with link points (17) to form a connecting angle (24) between them. The spring sections form a corrugated structure, each with at least one peak (20) and one valley (22).
