A hip roof has two or more main aspects, with a supporting frame and roof tiles. Each aspect of the roof meets the adjacent aspect of the roof along a line where rainwater is excluded by a ridge tile. The gap between the ridge tile and the first line of roof tiles is effected by an elongated esp. pleated seal. The pleat sidewalls incorporate both regular and irregular waveforms.
