The accessory for a fan (1) is fastened in the fan's air stream by means of at least one fastening device (5). The accessory may be decorative component which flies when the fan is operating and may be a miniature aeroplane, rocket, satellite, kite or flying carpet, for example. The fastening device may be a thread, wire or rod and may have a hook (6) for attaching to the screen (3) of the fan. The decorative component may be made of fabric, paper, film or any other light material. An independent claim is included for a system consisting of a fan and an accessory.
