The upper (1) and lower (2) jaw models are mounted in the hinged articulator (3) so that the model teeth meet in proper occlusal. The model plates are triangular in plan view and have three pins to keep them in the proper alignment. The models may be mounted on layers of gypsum (5) in the articulator and there are mounting plates (4) which may contain magnets.
