The device has a housing, cold water reservoir, turbulence fan for producing an air flow, air path with air inlets, chamber in which a heat exchange occurs with the water from the reservoir and a cold air flow outlet above the inlets. A heat exchanger with a number of adjacent heat exchange plates is arranged above the reservoir. A spray line with a pump and branch pipes sucks up water from the reservoir and sprays it onto the heat exchanger. The device has a housing (1), a water reservoir (11) for cold water, a turbulence fan (4) for producing an air flow, an air path with air inlets on one side of the housing, a chamber (15) in which a heat exchange occurs with the cold water from the reservoir and an outlet (17) for the cold air flow. The outlet is immediately above the inlets. A heat exchanger in the form of a number of adjacent heat exchange plates is arranged above the reservoir. A spray line (3) with a pump (31) and branch pipes sucks up the cold water from the reservoir and sprays it onto the heat exchanger.
