An adaptor to fit ratchet tool bits to a conventional socket spanner has a doubled ended socket with a ribbed profile (21) to take the mounting stub of a ratchet tool bit and with a square socket (22) at the other end to take the drive stub of a socket spanner. The adaptor enables the operator to fit ratchet drive bits onto conventional socket sets, e.g. to continue to use the ratchet tool bits after the ratchet driver has been damaged or lost.
